NAZIRA MUKASHEVA, FILM EXPERT:
- These contests help to raise the level of Kazakh cinema. The categories of the festival are very diverse. There are documentaries, animation and author cinema. There is a young generation of talented directors, screenwriters and producers who work in these areas.
This year the Shaken Aimanov film festival competition has adopted a new concept. It no longer limits entries by age or locations. The competition also focuses on uniting the Turkic cinematographers in the heart of Central Asia. (The international jury evaluated 45 films from Turkey, Iran, Peru and Cuba).
BAKHRIDDIN ABDULLAYEV, UZBEK ACTOR:
- The main goal of each festival is communication. This is a form of opinion exchange. We learn what is happening in Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
At the film festival, Almaty guests and residents watched the best examples of the contemporary world and domestic cinema in five days.
