Documentary film ‘Turksib’ in London

The documentary film of the 20th century ‘Turksib’ was presented in London. The historical movie of 1929 was introduced to the foreign audience for the first time. This is the first black-and-white movie filmed in the territory of Semirechye. The plot is about the construction of a large Turkestan-Siberian highway connecting Asia and Siberia. The film also shows the life of Kazakhs. Modern Kazakh composers. inspired by the film created a soundtrack for it. The musical accompaniment performed by the ‘Camerata of Kazakhstan’ orchestra has become a special feature of the project. The British Film Institute made a great contribution in conducting the frames restoration of the film.


- Our third Turksib performance took place today. The first performance was held in Almaty in 2015. Then we performed as part of the Camerata Festival. The impressions are really amazing.
