Kazakh music art in Moscow
The Akhmet Zhubanov Orchestra of Kazakh Folk Instruments from Aktobe has represented Kazakhstan at the Fifth International Festival of Folk Orchestra in Moscow. The festival, held at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, gathered the world’s best folk orchestras including bands from Belarus, Japan and Russia.
52 Kazakhs artists performed music composed by famous composers such as Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanovs, Yevgeny Brusilovsky, Kurmangazy and Kazangap. The orchestras were played using the lengendary kuis, dombyra, kobyz, sazsyrnay and kylkobyz. The skilled performances of the Kazakh musicians were highly praised by the judges and music experts.
