International Exhibition Of Venetian Glass
Taraz hosted the international exhibition of the Venetian glass where glass figurines, animal shaped figures, plates and vases with the gold plated Kazakh ornaments were presented. Works of famous Italian glass sculptor Pino Signoretto and his students were showcased for the first time at the exposition titled ‘The Echo of ancient Taraz: Cultural Bridges of Eurasia.’ Organizers said the masters borrowed elements of Kazakh customs in their works. It was initiated by close cooperation in art between Astana and Rome. The art connoisseurs were interested in the tulip-shaped Murano style glass as well as the red camisole of the 5th Century BC.
SVETLANA KOSTA, ITALIAN ARTIST:
- I love the Kazakh culture with my heart and soul. I devoted the two works to Astana. This is the sun of the new city and the secret of Astana’s color dedicated to Baiterek. Vases and paintings are 24 carat gold plated.
KURALAI SKAKOVA, REPRESENTATIVE OF ITALIAN ARTISTS IN KAZAKHSTAN:
- Based on the technology, after drawing the picture, a glass product is placed into an oven set with high temperature of 500 degree. The product is heated in the oven for nearly half a day and the drawing seemed to be shifted to the middle part of the glass. This picture can’t be removed. It stays until the glass breaks.
