Reports on coronavirus in Central Asia

In Uzbekistan, the number of coronavirus cases is approaching 1,000, reported the press service of Uzbek Health Ministry. More than 130 people were reported to be infected over the past day. 85 people have recovered. Uzbek authorities imposed the self-isolation regime in Tashkent and regions since April 1. Citizens over 65 years old are prohibited from leaving their homes.

Every sixth infected with coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan has already recovered, Kyrgyz Health Ministry reported. 71 patients were discharged from hospitals. 11 more people caught the deadly virus, bringing the total number of cases to 430. Every third infected is younger than 35; about 40 of the patients are children. The number of infected people aged from 35 to 55 reached 157. The state of emergency and curfew was imposed in major cities and some towns of Kyrgyzstan due to coronavirus pandemic.

There are no official reports on cases of COVID-19 in Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
