Reports on COVID-19 in Central Asia

Twelve more cases of coronavirus were registered in Kyrgyzstan, bringing the total number to 228. Four people have died, while five are in critical condition. A state of emergency and curfew are currently in effect in Bishkek, Osh and Jalal-Abad cities as well as Nookat and Kara-Suu districts of Osh region and Suzak district of Jalal-Abad region.

Meanwhile, the number of infected people in Uzbekistan grew to 457. Uzbek Health Ministry published detailed report on the patients’ condition. Thirty-one of them have pneumonia, nine are in serious condition, while two are in a critical condition. Thirty Uzbek citizens reported to have recovered and were taken to the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Therapy and Medical Rehabilitation.

Not a single case of coronavirus has been reported in two other Central Asian countries – Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
