COVID-19 Reports in Central Asia
Uzbek special republican commission oт prevention of coronavirus spread made a decision to ban people aged over 65 from going outside except for shopping for groceries and medicine in the close proximity to their homes. In Uzbekistan, eight more COVID-19 cases have been registered over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of the infected to 187, Uzbek Health Ministry reported. 12 people have fully recovered. Uzbekistan has also reported two deaths.
In Kyrgyzstan, coronavirus has spread to nearly all regions of the country. There are 116 cases to date. Five patients have recovered. A state of emergency is still in effect in Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad and other three regions of the state.
Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have escaped coronavirus pandemic so far, Galina Perfilyeva, WHO representative in Tajikistan confirmed. She said that timely measures to prevent the COVID-19 spread helped to avoid the infection outbreak in these couhntries.
