Foreign Tabloids Mark Tourism Boom in Central Asian Countries
Central Asia is becoming one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world. Among the countries in the region, Uzbekistan became the fastest growing tourist destination last year. Kazakhstan took second place.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan is also actively developing tourism. Famous international tabloids and magazines such as the American-Australian travel guide Lonely Planet suggested the Central Asia region as a travel destination. Lonely Planet publishes one of the most popular rankings of the best travel destinations every year.
“Apart from Kazakhstan, our neighboring countries, such as Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have also entered the list. This is a significant advantage for local tourism because we are interested in the development of the whole Central Asian region. We see that Western tourists when organizing their travel plans are willing to visit several countries in one trip. We agree that it is more beneficial to introduce transboundary trips,” said Chief Manager of Department of Kazakh Tourism National Company, Yernur Kenzhebekov.
Another foreign guide, The Telegraph strongly recommends its readers to visit Central Asian countries. Kazakh experts comment on a positive assessment of the British newspaper. They said that it can be explained by several factors involving travelers’ increasing interest in the bright and unique culture of the regions. The other reasons are the diversity in landscape, flora, and fauna in the countries and the simplified entry system. Central Asian tour operators also contribute to the industry by making active marketing efforts.
