CSTO Military Exercises Took Place in Tajikistan
The military exercise between the CSTO member states “Enduring Brotherhood – 2019” was held in Tajikistan. More than three and a half thousand soldiers took part in the training, and used 600 pieces of equipment.
Based on the scenario of the program, the armed forces crossed the border and conduct military operations with the Tajik border guards.
Soldiers from the 201st Russian military base and Tajikistan’s air assault military entered the battle and stopped the militants’ attack. In the first phase of the training, the military completed over 120 fire missions and defeated enemy targets.
“The collective forces of the rapid deployment of the Central Asian region is the first and the main component that is capable of solving the tasks of neutralizing the challenges and threats in the collective security region, specifically to ensure the security world of the Central Asian countries and the members of the collective security treaty organization,” said Chief of CSTO Joint Staff, Anatoliy Sidorov.
“In the beginning it was very important to have the tasks on cooperation. We have completed seven operational tasks consistently and simultaneously. In addition, we deployed a unified management system, and given the fact that we didn’t have any language barrier, we were able to solve all the managerial and combat tasks,” said District Commander of Russia’s Central Military District,” Alexander Lapin.
