Kazakhstan’s shopping mall will be opened in Turkmenistan. According to website, an agreement on the mall was reached in Ashgabat between the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.  According to the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, local companies have long shown interest to promote their products to the market of Turkmenistan. Moreover, the parties have agreed on assistance in obtaining entry visas for entrepreneurs of both countries.


The volume of foreign investment in Tajikistan’s economy has increased by 25.8%, comparing to the same period of last year. In the first six months of this year, the main contributor to the republic’s economy was China, the Tajik information portal reports. Today, 70 state investment projects are being implemented in the Republic and the total amount of deposits amounted to over US$3 billion.


Uzbekistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are planning to implement joint projects worth over US$1 billion. According to the Central Asia News Service, this was announced at the meeting of the President of Uzbekistan with the head of the EBRD. Promising projects of the rural infrastructure and housing construction development and modernization of energy facilities and utilities as well as the support of the small and medium-sized enterprises are under consideration. In the upcoming months, projects worth up to US$600 million will be approved.


Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will create a common tourist destination. According to the Kapital.KZ website, companies of both countries signed a number of agreements on cooperation as part of the Tourism on the Silk Road workshop in Tashkent. The partners agreed on the development of new tourist products such as tourist centers and tap on the potential tourism opportunities in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
