Reforming Uzbekistan’s pension system
The Uzbek government plans to introduce changes to the pension system. As part of the Concept of Reforming the State Pension System draft, the government authorities are set to raise the retirement age by three years. Men will retire at 63 and women at 58. The retirement age will be raised gradually by six months every year beginning from 2022. Experts also offered raising the minimum service requirement from seven to ten years from 2019. There is a growth of elderly population in Uzbekistan. According to statistics, 3.3 million people receive pensions.
