Commercial and industrial hub for all Eurasian countries to appear in Kazakhstan
A commercial and industrial hub for the entire Eurasian region is planned to be established in Kazakhstan. Kazakh Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov and Chairperson of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolay Podguzov discussed this during a working meeting. They said that the project would strengthen industrial cooperation among the countries of the region.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed the EDB’s participation in the project for the creation of a national commodity distribution system and in the projects of the Kazakhstan-Russia cross-border cooperation program.
“We discussed the possibility of establishing an industrial and logistics hub on the territory of Kazakhstan, in some convenient region bordering Russia,” Sultanov said.
The EDB and Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration also decided to work closely on the creation of the International Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation ‘Central Asia’ (ICTEC), which Kazakhstan is building jointly with Uzbekistan.
“It is encouraging that the head of the EDB assesses the prospects of the ICTEC as becoming a part of an integral system of commodity distribution flows throughout the region,” Sultanov mentioned.
