New export opportunities: Qaztrade accelerator program sums up results of first stage
Products “Made in Kazakhstan” will appear on the shelves of world shopping centers. Domestic enterprises are already making confident steps in this direction. Moreover, they receive state support. 35 out of 97 domestic companies made it to the next stage of the export acceleration program of Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration “QAZTRADE ACCELERATOR”, said the ministry’s press service. Both current exporters and debutants of the field took part in the program designed to help food companies in Kazakhstan find foreign business partners and enter Chinese market.
“Among these companies there are both newcomers in the field of export (two companies have never sold their products abroad), and companies that previously carried out one-time deliveries. Today, all of them aim at a long-term presence in the market of the foreign state,” said Kazakh Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov, opening the first training webinar on the export acceleration program.
He noted that despite the size of the Chinese market, access to it is limited, and the duration of export procedures can take up to 90 days. The manufactured product must meet all the requirements of technical regulations and marketing features of China. The task of the accelerator is precisely to teach businesses to target their goods to foreign markets.
“Our products are deservedly in demand there because of their high quality, but for a number of reasons we are not yet sufficiently represented on the shelves of Chinese stores. The task of the accelerator is to ensure the long-term presence of our products in the Chinese market,” said Arman Abenov, CEO of “QazTrade” Center for Trade Policy Development.
As part of the next, second stage, which will be held this fall, a detailed profile will be created for each participant. It will reflect an analysis of strengths and weaknesses of an exporting company, determine the level of its potential and contain information such as the requirements of technical regulations of the destination country for Kazakh products. The participating companies will be provided with advice on further steps to entering the market.
One of the last stages of the program will be the participation of 35 companies in the Third International Import Expo in Shanghai CIIE-2020, which in recent years has become the main global platform for deal-making between enterprises.
On the other hand, companies that applied for the program but could not pass the selection should not give up the dream of selling products around the world. Such enterprises will receive another chance. Organizers said that they will replenish the reserve of the program participants for future years.
