What support do entrepreneurs receive in Kazakhstan under Business Roadmap 2025?
More than 16,000 small and medium-sized business projects in the last 10 years were subsidized by the Baiterek National Managing Holding under the Business Roadmap state program. Assistance to domestic businesspeople was provided through the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund. Deputy Chairperson of the Baiterek National Managing Holding Rustam Karagoishin told about this at a press briefing.
“One of the demanded tools for supporting SMEs is subsidizing interest rates on loans. As of August 1, the Damu Fund has subsidized 16,311 projects in the amount of 2.8 trillion tenge (US$6.6 billion tenge) since 2010 in three directions of the program. Of these, 1,432 projects were supported in 2018 for a total loan of 173 billion tenge (US$412.8 million) and 2,402 projects in 2019 for 154 billion tenge (US$367.5 million). Making a comparison, I would like to note that we are increasing the volume of support,” Karagoishin said.
He stressed that thanks to the state support, a medical and diagnostic hospital complex of radiation therapy and nuclear medicine was built in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan.
“This is a unique complex in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Cancer patients are treated there using a new modern method of tomotherapy (a new method of radiation therapy) with the use of TomoTherapy HD equipment. Thanks to this method, great advances can be made in the treatment of all types of cancer, even those that have so far been difficult to treat with available radio-emitting medical equipment or surgery,” Karagoishin said.
He added that the projects of the manufacturing industry in the field of transport, warehousing, wholesale and retail trade and agriculture were most supported.
