Small business grows in Kazakhstan, despite quarantine

The number of small active companies has increased in Kazakhstan. According to the website, their number grew by 1 percent in April only, despite the quarantine.

The highest growth was recorded in Almaty and Shymkent. More than 98 percent of registered legal entities in Kazakhstan account for small companies. At the end of April, their number amounted to 442,200 which is 3.1 percent more than the last year.

In total, the number of operating small companies has increased to 307,700 over the year, 161,000 of them are active. Almost a quarter of all enterprises work in the field of trade and repair of cars and motorcycles, while others work in education and construction.

Over 40 percent of all small active companies are located in Almaty and Nur-Sultan. A little less are located in Karagandy region.
