The Council for Import Substitution Industrialization will be created in Kazakhstan. During the first meeting, topics on increasing volumes of domestic products and expanding sales markets will be discussed. As part of the new platform, entrepreneurs and public authorities will be developing and implementing investment projects for import substitution industrialization.
The National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan has selected more than 360 promising teams in five sectors, particularly, mechanical engineering, food processing, light industry as well as chemical and furniture industries.
“Can you imagine that last year we exported 156,000 heads of cattle and 260,000 of goats and sheep. These are unprecedented indicators. Almost 80 percent in both categories have been exported to Uzbekistan. It is important to improve the local production sector,” said Chairperson of Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, Ablai Myrzakhmetov.
