Cooperation Between Kazakhstan and Israel
The trade value between Kazakhstan and Israel amounted to almost US$1.5 billion in 2019. The two countries plan to strengthen cooperation in different areas of the economy to increase bilateral trade.
The prioritized fields of partnership are agriculture, information technologies, social entrepreneurship and others. In particular, the countries are eager to not only exchange best practices in agricultural sector, but also create a joint investment fund.
“One of the large projects which are being discussed at the moment is the creation of an investment fund. The fund which will hold investments from local and Israeli international investors will be used for the development of agriculture in Kazakhstan. The country’s agricultural industry is very well developed and supplies are being made to Russia, China, and the Middle East. We want to increase the production of greens, vegetables and meat in Kazakhstan,” said Israeli Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Liat Wexelman.
Kazakhstan and Israel are expanding cooperation in culture as well. Experts opined that film screenings will contribute to the strengthening of the relations and bring people from the two countries even closer.
Israeli movie, The Wedding Plan was presented in Nur-Sultan recently. It was premiered at the 73rd Venice Film Festival. The film received various awards and positive feedback from film critics. People from Kazakhstan watched the film in the original language with English subtitles.
