Astana Sees Investment Growth in 2018
The capital city of Kazakhstan, Astana is seeing high investment growth last year. For the first 11 months of 2018, fixed investment in the young city reached 854 billion Tenge, while foreign investment was recorded at 197 billion Tenge.
Mayor of Astana, Bakhyt Sultanov said Astana is the city of entrepreneurs and it requires a significant amount of investments to develop various businesses.
He said there are 193 projects, which involves foreign investors and transnational corporations.
“In the total investment volume, 86% is contributed by the small and medium enterprises. The majority of investments in Astana are formed by private initiatives,” Sultanov said.
Some of the most promising business sectors in Astana include manufacturing, trade, services and healthcare.
Meanwhile, various Government programs are introduced in Astana to support local and foreign entrepreneurs. Last year, more than 1,000 enterprises received some 186 billion Tenge as part of the Business Roadmap program.
