Kazakhstan and Kuwait are interested in expanding cooperation
Kazakhstan and Kuwait are interested in expanding cooperation. The Arabian Peninsula state regards Kazakhstan as its important Central Asian partner. Negotiations continue between the two countries to simplify the visa regime as the countries plan to develop joint tourism. Arabs are interested in skiing, mountain hiking and falconry. Meanwhile, Kazakhs dream to visit the Persian Gulf, famous towers, large shopping centres and mosques.
YOUSUF MUSTAFA ABDULLAH, SPOKESPERSON, TOURISM IN KUWAIT:
- Seven million tourists visited Kuwait last year. The country earned 500 million Kuwaiti dinars. We think that this is not the limit. We are developing new areas.
The share of Kuwaiti food imports is quite big. The country imports spices from India and meat from Australia. A niche market is available for Kazakhstan.
ALMAS ABDRAMANOV, KAZAKH AMBASSADOR TO KUWAIT:
- Kuwait is interested in importing food, especially Kazakh meat. Many say that meat from Kazakhstan is organic and can be distinguished by its taste. Deliveries will go through a certain production line. We are trying to connect them with retail representatives in Kuwait. Negotiations are being continued.
The two countries also discuss other topics of mutual interest which are related to cooperation in economic, political and cultural areas.
