Nearly 100 billion Tenge will be allocated to develop the agro-industrial sector
Kazakhstan intends to realize its full potential in the agro-industrial sector. In the next three years, nearly 100 billion Tenge will be allocated to develop the industry. The main goal of agricultural producers is to increase export by 2.5 times. (Zhambyl region contributes to the implementation of these goals). Since the beginning of the year, over 2,000 tonnes of meat products have been exported.
YERLAN KULKEYEV, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT:
- Last year, our exports amounted to 495 tonnes. Since the beginning of the year, the Zhambyl region has exported more than 2,200 tonnes of various meat products.
In the current year, Kazakhstan's livestock breeders have shipped 10,500 tonnes of meat to Uzbekistan and Russia.
KHASYM ITKUSOV, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT:
- Meat products worth nearly US$2 million were exported and the situation with dairy products is similar to this. Geographically, in terms of livestock breeding, neighbouring regions of Russia are located mainly in Central Russia, specifically, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Kazakh breeders plan to export to the Chinese market. The first batch of frozen lamb from the Karagandy region was exported to the neighbouring country. Deliveries to China were sent by rail. (Farmers of two districts of the region provided the first batch of 20 tonnes of meat. They provided 1,200 livestock heads). 600 tonnes of mutton will be shipped abroad by the end of the year.
YONG JIPING, SPOKESPERSON, XINJIANG IMPORT-EXPORT COMPANY:
- Most importantly, there is an agreement between the leaders of both countries. Businessmen solve supply issues. A great deal of work was done by ministries of agriculture of Kazakhstan and China (as part of infection control requirements). Today, all problems are solved and we began to cooperate.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of meat production in Kazakhstan has amounted to over 225,000 tonnes. This is higher for almost 10% comparing to the same period of 2017.
