Kazakhstan and Russia: Border cooperation
Kazakhstan and Russia are expanding areas of cooperation. Last year, the foreign trade turnover of the two countries exceeded US$1 billion. The share of bordering Aktobe and Orenburg regions accounts for US$89.5 million. This was announced in Aktobe at events dedicated to the Days of the Orenburg region. Today, Russia is an important trading partner for Kazakhstan and cooperation between both countries is strengthened every day.
BERDYBEK SAPARBAYEV, GOVERNOR, AKTOBE REGION:
- The arrival of a large delegation headed by the Governor of the region will give an additional impetus to development of economies of our regions, and we, as leaders, will create conditions for this.
Delegations of the two regions signed a number of memorandums. The agreements include the supply of products by Aktobe Plant of Oil Equipment to Tyulgan Machine Manufacturing Plant in Orenburg. In return, Russia will increase the order supply of Ural steel to its rail factory.

- We have Kazakhstan’s capital in Orenburg and our Orenburg’s capital is here. The Aktobe region is rapidly developing. We are learning a lot. Once again I want to thank you for this.
The interregional cooperation is also extended to the education sector. 150 children from Aktobe will camp in Russia this year, while children from Russia will visit Aktobe in the next three months.
