Kazakhstan’s investment attractiveness
80 per cent of U.S investments to Central Asia went directly to Kazakhstan due to the favorable investment climate in the country. Kazakhstan pays special attention to creating comfortable conditions for investors and facilitating entrepreneurial activities. Today in Kazakhstan, there are 500 joint Kazakh-American companies actively operating businesses in the country. There are also large U.S companies that work in the oil and gas, mining and other industries. Cooperation between the two countries will continue, particularly in the development of digital transformation and agriculture projects.
GEORGE KROL, U.S AMBASSADOR TO KAZAKHSTAN:
- This is a new stage in diversification of the U.S. investments and business in Kazakhstan. This is also the new stage of Kazakh investments in America. We think that there is a huge potential for development of investments in various areas of Kazakhstan’s economy including, agriculture. It can be processing complexes, chemical facilities and so on.
BILL PRICE, CO-OWNER, AGRICULTURAL COMPANY:
- We started about 12 years ago. Global Beef started with partnership called KazBeef with the Kazakhstani government. We work in Almaty region, Kostanai, Kokshetau.
The foreign investments are spread across different regions in Kazakhstan. Entrepreneurs from Switzerland plans to invest in the processing industry and renewable energy in Almaty. The foreign businessmen are ready to share their expertise and technologies.
URS SCHMID, SWISS AMBASSADOR TO KAZAKHSTAN:
- We have been cooperating with Kazakhstan for more than 15 years. Almaty region is one of the rapidly developing regions. People can successfully develop the tourism industry and other areas. Well, natural and climatic conditions allow building green energy facilities, and since our country has succeeded in this, we can share our experience with partners from Kazakhstan. In addition, the region is known for high quality food products, so fruit and vegetable processing is also attractive to us.
Since independence, foreign companies have invested nearly US$300 billion into the economy of Kazakhstan. The top companies investing in Kazakhstan are from the Netherlands, France, Russia, Japan, China, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
