Automobile manufacturing doubled in Kazakhstan

Automobile manufacturing has doubled in Kazakhstan. According to the head of Kazakhstan’s Union of Automotive Industry Enterprises Oleg Alfyorov, domestic plants manufactured almost 7,000 cars, buses, trucks and special equipment over the past three months. Demand for vehicles of domestic assembly among the Kazakh buyers is growing. In the first quarter of this year, Kazakhstan’s residents spent over 26 billion tenge on purchasing cars made in Kazakhstan. This is two and a half times more than in the same period of 2017. Lada, Hyundai, KIA, Ravon and JAC are among the most popular car brands.

 - This result was primarily achieved due to three factors. Firstly, it was the steady growth of the vehicles line-up. Today, Kazakh enterprises assemble over 140 models of nineteen car brands. Secondly, sales went up due to additional financing for car loans made available earlier this year.

Kazakhstan’s automotive industry enterprises contributed almost forty billion tenge to the national GDP. This is 90% higher compared to the same period of 2017.
