Ankara hosts book presentation dedicated to life and work of Abai
The book in Turkish language dedicated to the life and work of the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbaiuly was published in the Turkish capital Ankara. The book called ‘Turki duniesynyn danasy – Abai Kunanbaiuly’ (Abai Kunanbaiuly is a genius of the Turkic world) collected articles of 93 scientists and famous representatives of the Turkic peoples. The book, published with the support of the International Turkic Academy and the Eurasian Writers Union, was compiled by Nergiz Birai, Gulzhanat Kurmangaliyeva Ercilasun and Soner Saglam. Scientists believe that the book will become a valuable source of new knowledge for both students of Turkology and the world community.
“We worked on this book dedicated to Abai’s 175th anniversary for three years. Now it is finally published. The three of us, including Nergiz Birai, a professor from the Turkish city of Denizli, as well as me and Dr. Soner Saglam, collected the works of nearly 100 scientists in this book. Why is this book different from others? It contains the works of Alikhan Bokeikhanov, Mukhtar Auezov, Kaiym Mukhamedkhanov and other philologists studying the works of Abai, as well as the scientists of different generations that were translated and published in Turkish. In addition, the works of nearly 30 Turkish scientists dedicated to Abai Kunanbaiuly were also included in the book,” said Professor Dr. Gulzhanat Kurmangaliyeva Ercilasun.
