Daulet Chokparov

Daulet Chokparov promotes Kazakh folk applied art, demonstrating at the exhibitions his works of wood, leather, stone and metal. And also collects old folk technology. The artist works with the same tools that his ancestors held in his hands. He feels every blow to the metal, while he does not use sketches; he transfers a drawing on the jewelry. This is exactly what skillful craftsmen did, showing their skill acquired over the centuries.

Daulet Chokparov is the director of the craftsman Darkembay Museum of Applied Arts in the small village of AkchI, which is opened thanks to the state program “Cultural Heritage”.
