Abdizhamil Nurpeissov is a patriarch of Kazakh literature, genius and pride of our nation.
He was raising awareness about environmental issues in his works long before it has become mainstream. One of his most monumental literary work is entirely dedicated to environmental catastrophe of the Aral Sea. I am talking about his “The last debt” duology that was awarded with Sholokhov prize in 2003.
